EIR lesson last week~~~I WAS ABSENT!!!

Was so sick last wed and so I skip my EIR lesson....FEEL SO GUILTY...then went macau on fri morning...haizz...luckily same class with jx...can ask her what we need to do for EIR...hahaha...
So just now i tried the METACRAWLER search engine(http://www.metacrawler.com/) and YAHOO DIRECTORIES(http://dir.yahoo.com/?skw=yahoo+directory). All i can say is...METACRAWLER RAWKS~~~meta(i called it meta for short) actually includes ALL the search engines for example GOOGLE YAHOO ASK.com etc...so if u look up for a topic, meta will show ALL the results from different search engines...very convenient~~~
For YAHOO DIRECTORIES, on the website itself, it contain many  diffrent directories for example health, government, entertainment...etc...if u want to search for a topic, for example, fashion, the result will come out websites under that directory...they will also show related directories to ur topic...
For me, i love meta because by using that i don't have to to go to diferrent search engines to look for the same topic, which is time consuming...haha...from now on i'll use more of meta than the other search engines...LOL...

SECOND LIFE E-SHOPPING!!!

Went e-shopping using second life just now...LOL...i went to MIA-Men In Action to go take a look at the surroundings there...
When i was teleported there, the first thing that i had noticed is the music...haha...this place plays cool music...LOL The surroundings were simple and not confusing...which is very easy to walk around and not getting lost...LOL!!!

 After walk around this area, i found out that this area normally sells clothes, shoes and apparels...hahaha...some are quite cool...BUT!!! i dun hv any money to buy them...SAD~~~

Compared to REAL LIFE online shopping, of course the most distinct difference is that i can only use the stuff that i bought in SECOND LIFE in the game while the things that i bought during REAL LIFE online shopping can actually be used in real life...hahaha

I NEVER ACTUALLY MET ANYONE IN THIS PLACE...MAYBE MOSTLY BECAUSE IM FLYING ALL THE TIME...LOL!!!

I find this experience very fun ALTHOUGH i dun hv any money to buy any stuff...HAHAHA...

I should try other places next time when i dun actually hv ANY PROJECT to do...HAHAHA...

Today in our EIR class, we was assigned to compare which search engine was better and what is the difference between them...We used GOOGLE and GOOGLE-SCHOLAR...before this I don't even know there is a GOOGLE-SCHOLAR...LOL!!! After this activity, I found out that GOOGLE-SCHOLAR is actually like you can search for articles or reports or journals only...while in normal GOOGLE site you can search for everything-websites, e-magazines etc...
Before the class ended that day, we were asked to participate in a disccussion on FB...the question was: Internet seems to make our lives more complicated than ever before. Ironically, we do not seem to have enough time to do things. Discuss. My reply to that was quite lengthy but not sire whether relevent or not...worried...LOL
ANYWAY~~~was damn tired and nearly fell asleep during the lesson~~~SORRY!!! But I still manage to learn important stuff during this lesson...FORTUNALY~~~

SO IN LAST WEEK'S EIR CLASS, WE ARE INTRODUCED TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTERNET RESOURCES...FOR EXAMPLE---BLOGS, WIKIS, ONLINE FORUMS, NEWSGROUPS, MAILING AND DISCUSSION LISTS, FULL TEXT DOCUMENTS, DATABASES, ELECTRONIC JOURNALS AND MAGAZINES, MULTIMEDIA SOURCES, CURRENT AWARENESS AND ALERTING SERVICE, RSS AND PODCASTING, FTP ARCHIVES AND FINALLY, WWW SITES...MS LIN ALSO SHOWN US THE EXAMPLES OF THOSE INTERNET RESOURCES...BEFORE THIS I NEVER KNEW THAT THESE WEBSITES CAN BE CATEGORIZE INTO SO MANY DIFFERENT CATEGORIES...LOL!!! LATER THAT DAY IN THE CLASS, WE WERE GIVEN 22 TOPICS AND EACH OF US WAS GONNA CHOOSE ONE OF THOSE TOPICS FOR OUR PORTFOLIO...I HAD CHOSEN YOUTH FASHION IN EUROPE!!! HAHAHA...
AFTER THAT, WE WERE ASSIGNED FOR DOINDG AN ACTIVITY...WHICH IS, BASED ON OUR TOPIC THAT WE HAD CHOSEN, SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR ONE EACH OF THE FOLLOWING INTERNET RESOURCES, USING ANY INTERNET FACILITY...:
1. ORGANISATIONAL WEBSITES
2. BLOG
3. MAGAZINE/JOURNALS
4. DISCUSSION FORUMS
THAT DAY I HAD USED GOOGLE AND YAHOO! TO LOOK FOR THOSE WEBSITES...I FOUND OUT THAT ACTUALLY YAHOO WILL GIVE MORE RELEVENT WEBSITES THAN GOOGLE...LOL...I ALSO FOUND MANY SITES LIKE http://www.vogue.it/ THAT PROVIDE MANY INFORMATIONS AND ARTICLES RELATED TO MY SUBJECT. BESIDES THAT I ALSO FOUND A LOT OF RELATED PHOTOS AND PICTURES THAT CAN BE HELPFUL IN MY PORTFOLIO!!!
HAHAHA...NEXT TIME MAYBE I'LL TRY MORE INTERNET FACILITIES TO LOOK FOR MY INFORMATION...MAYBE I'LL FIND ANOTHER WEBSITE THAT IS EVEN BETTER THAN YAHOO!!!
